my aura
Just found this on my bookshelf. I think I was around 16.
Deep Red: Grounded, realistic, active, strong will-power, survival-oriented.
Light or pale yellow: Emerging psychic and spiritual awareness; optimism and hopefulness; positive excitement about new ideas.
Orange-Yellow: Creative, intelligent, detail oriented, perfectionist, scientific.
Orange Red: Confidence, creative power

DON'T BE SHY
Open Submissions
Showpaper is a non-for-profit organization committed to establishing a greater network of emerging young artists and musicians throughout the tri-state area. The publication is a print only, bi-monthly, one page newsprint that lists over 300 all ages music events on one side and a full color art piece on the other. We are independently run and advertising free. And we want to you to contribute to our paper.
The open submission process will be ongoing, with an artist who submits through this request selected for the paper every sixth issue. We will release a call for work four times per year. If your work is not chosen for the paper during this time, artists must re-submit during the next open submission process. Although all work will be accepted by the publication as it always has, you will have a greater chance of selection by submitting work within the parameters listed below:
-Make use of the full page, keeping in mind the quarter fold, large scale format of the paper.
-Bright, colorful, busy, dynamic, geometric pieces look awesome on newsprint.
-Send multiple works, no more than 3 however, so that we can view a body of work rather than a singular piece.
-Submit a brief artist bio explaining your work.
-All components of this "portfolio" must be sent cohesively via email titled "art submission". No multiple emails.
-We will contact you directly if we have selected your work for the paper, so there is no need to submit hi res images at this time, but keep in mind our specifications (21.5 by 15.5, no bleed,TIF, 300 dpi) when preparing your materials.
These guidelines are meant to allow us to learn about each artist to the best of our ability, thus allowing the paper to better function as a committed platform for emerging artists to first show their work within the greater New York area. As Showpaper is first and foremost dedicated to serving our community, we are incredibly excited to view and present the work of the talented, intelligent, hardworking people who surround us on a day to day basis.
